Restaurant "Gerberg 1st numeraire"

No matter how the name of this establishment is twisted on the net: "Humbert" (hello, Nabokov!), "Nuremberg," "Grimberg," .... But most importantly: seek out and visit because everything, from the menu to the interior details, seems to be a cozy, native and truly Kolomensky.

The restaurant is located in the very heart of the city, on the main pedestrian street. The founders - natives of Kolomna - set themselves an ambitious task: to create not only a commercially successful project, but also a tourist object that would organically fit into the tourist cluster of Kolomna.

And they did it.

Authors of the idea carefully restored a 19th century apartment building. They even left a "window" through which the old log base of the building can be seen. Old nails, wall and floor boards, and pre-revolutionary newspaper on the walls in the dining hall were also preserved.

The name was also symbolic, reflecting the urban life of the XVIII - XIX century. Herbergs at that time were called expensive inns, and "numera" defined the list of services of the establishment. The gerberges of the first numeraire, the most expensive and prestigious "restaurants", produced infusions and nalewkas of the highest quality.

In today's "Herberg" tinctures are one of the highlights. Own production allows the establishment to boast unique flavors: red Sicilian orange, oak cherry, signature "Gerberg" on northern herbs and berries and bittersweet "Women's share". Each letter of the alphabet has its own flavor (even "Ъ"). Of course, you can't try everything at once, but you can take something with you.

The hearty menu is based on dishes once popular in Moscow and Moscow province. The recipes are not just copied - they are adapted to suit the tastes of modern visitors. They offer traditional Moscow solyanka, soup with mushrooms according to the recipe of the commander Suvorov, and inn waders - small sandwiches "for one bite".

The breakfast menu is truly exquisite. For example, the Aristocrat's Breakfast is a crispy wheat baguette with delicate rabbit or duck mousse. Everything is served on trays laden with copies of the very newspapers with which the house was covered before the renovation.

You will look around the wooden hut, look at the upholstered chests and wooden stairs and feel something familiar, forgotten. Or maybe just the spirit of Kolomna - one of the most beautiful provincial Russian towns.
