A town (since 1918) in Russia, the administrative center of the Rodnikovsky district of Ivanovo region, forms Rodnikovsky urban settlement.

Historical background

Rodniki was first mentioned in 1564 in the letters patent of Tsar Ivan Vasilievich the Terrible to the Pokrovsky nunnery in Suzdal. In 1820 a textile enterprise of merchants Krasilshchikov, which later became one of the largest in Russia, was founded. With the advent of Soviet power the former textile plant of the Krasilshchikovs was renamed to the Bolshevik factory.
