Drezna

Drezna was founded in 1897 as a settlement at a spinning and weaving factory. By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR on October 7, 1940 Drezna was given the status of a city of district subordination.

Practically all the development of the city and the life of its residents until the 90s of the XX century were connected with the Drezna spinning and weaving factory, where the majority of local residents worked. Their children studied at the vocational school (formerly FZU, factory school) at the factory and replaced their parents. From here Dreznyans also went to the front during the Great Patriotic War.

Until January 2018 it was part of Orekhovo-Zuyevsky Raion. In the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky municipal district of the same name in the course of the municipal reform and in accordance with the Law of the Moscow Region of 28.02.2005 NO. 67/2005-OZ "On the Status and Boundaries of the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky Municipal District and Newly Formed Municipal Entities within it". the city was the only settlement within the municipal entity "urban settlement of Drezna", abolished on January 10, 2018. The area of the urban settlement was 800 hectares. It bordered the Gorskoye Rural Settlement of the former Orekhovo-Zuyevsky Municipal District (to the north, east and south) and the Ulitinskoye Rural Settlement of the former Pavlovo-Posad Municipal District (to the west).

The bodies of local self-government of Drezna urban settlement were:

• Council of Deputies of the city - is an elected representative body of local self-government. It consists of 16 deputies elected for 5 years;
• Head of the city - Elected by citizens for a term of 5 years;
• municipal supervisory body;
• City Administration (executive-administrative body of the urban settlement).
