City in the Kurgan region of Russia, the administrative center of Dalmatovsky district. Within the administrative-territorial structure is a town of district subordination. Within the municipal structure, together with 5 adjoining villages, it forms the municipality of the town of Dalmatovo with the status of an urban settlement.

Historical background

In 1644, the Venerable Dalmatian of Iset was founded Dalmatovo Assumption Monastery. and 7 years later at the monastery a Sluzhnyaya Sloboda arose, renamed in 1691 the village of Nicholas.

The Bashkirs lived in the vicinity of the monastery and "did all kinds of help themselves.

On 7 September 1651 to the monastery suddenly came 100 soldiers of Tsarevitch Devlet Giray and Kuchuk, looted and burned the monastery, killing three elders and 17 people monastic servants and took away with them 20 people. The founder of the monastery, the Monk Dalmat of Iset, was absent at the time in the monastery. According to legend, the Dalmatian icon did not suffer from the fire.

In 1662-1664, the monastery was repeatedly raided by nomadic tribes who ravaged it (for example, about the raid of Sara Mergen's detachment in 1662, archival documents report that the monastery "The barbarians did not leave it even in ruins, but by burning it was compared to the earth".

18 (29) December 1708 by an Imperial decree was formed Siberian province.

13 (24) August 1737 Iset province was formed.

15 (26) March 1744 was formed Orenburg Province, which included Isetskaya province.

In January 1763, the peasants of the village of Nikolaevsky banished from the worldly headman - a protégé of the monks, and elected a peasant Lavrentiy Shirokov as headman, Ivan Lobov as scribe, Mikhail Barsukov was elected clerk. Monks were not satisfied with peasant self-government. They fraudulently seized the elected officials, inviting them to the monastery for negotiations, and terribly beat them. At the head of the secular government were again placed monastic: the headman Vasily Lavrov, scribe - Ivan Mogilnikov. In April 1763 arrives to the monastery Archimandrite Joachinth, who had been its abbot since 1760. He organizes a punitive detachment, with the help of which he seizes the peasants' lands, sows the monastery's grain, steals the horses, etc. This aroused the indignation of the peasants of the village, supported by other villages of the fiefdom as well. In late June 1763 in the Dalmatov Monastery arrived punitive detachment of the Azov Dragoon Regiment of 60 men under the leadership of Lieutenant Telepnev, who proceeded to pacify the peasants, accompanied by violence and arbitrariness. Mir hut in the village Nikolaevsky became the center of a peasant revolt, which went down in the history of the region under the name of "dubinshchina". On August 2, 1763 the peasants defeated the crew of Telepnev. The peak of rebellion came in September-December 1763, when the peasants, armed mostly with clubs and scythes, mounted on a pole, went to open defiance, surrounded the Dalmatov monastery, cut the road to Shadrinsk and Chelyabinsk. In early December, with the beginning of frosts, the peasants themselves withdrew from the walls of the monastery, setting ambushes on the approaches to the villages. At the end of March 1764, Azov dragoon regiment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aborin came to the aid of the besieged monastery. The revolt was suppressed with the help of troops. 167 people of the main "troublemakers" were put to death.

On February 26, 1764, Catherine II signed a decree transferring the monastic peasants to the College of Economy. Since 1837 the peasants of Dalmatovskaya volost, formerly economic, began to be called state peasants.

Pugachev detachment of up to 2 000 people under the command of the Chelyabinsk Sesaul Prokhor Pesterev, from February 11 to March 2, 1774 stood in the village Nikolaevskoye and laid siege to the monastery. The monastery withstood assaults on February 12 and 13 and the siege. On March 14, the government detachment of Dekolong freed the Dalmatian monastery from the siege, but the property of those who went under the protection of the monastery and for its defense was looted. The monastery suffered monetary losses of 1,025 rubles 21 kopecks. This amount was spread over all the villages of the fiefdom. From the village of Nicholas was charged 68 rubles 18.5 kopecks.

January 27 (February 7) 1781 by decree On the establishment of the Perm Viceroyalty, the village was given the status of a district town with the name DalmatovIn honor of the founder of the Dalmatian Monastery of the Assumption - monk Dalmat, laity Cossack Dmitry Ivanovich Mokrinsky.. On July 17, 1783, the Coat of Arms of the city: the blue field of three gold bells, set pyramid, with the inscription on them 7152 year (from the creation of the world, 1644 AD.), indicating that this place is known for building there Dalmatovskogo Assumption Monastery.

12 (23) December 1796 there is a new division of the state into provinces, Dalmatovsky district is liquidated, Dalmatov turns into an out-of-town town in Shadrinsk district of Perm province.

On April 19, 1852 in the city there was a very large fire, which in a few hours went through the entire city and destroyed 489 houses (47 survived), caused damage to St. Nicholas Parish Church and the Church of the Dalmatian Assumption Monastery.

In the 19th century, the main occupation of the villagers was growing cucumbers, as well as collecting and selling wild hops.

January 25, 1918 the establishment of Soviet power in the city of Dalmatov.

On July 11, 1918 the battle of Dalmatov fighters of the 4th Ural Rifle Regiment (commander Timofei Grigorievich Anchugov) with one gun (under the command of Artemiy Selyanin), and two blinkered platforms with a gun mounted on one of them and eight machine guns (under the command of Warrant Officer A.S. Ustinov) against the Whiteguards of the Shadrinsk volunteer detachment (commander: staff-captain Alexander Alexandrovich Kurenkov), the 2nd Steppe Siberian Rifle Regiment (commander: staff-captain Dmitry Nikolaevich Pankov), the 13th Omsk Siberian Rifle Regiment (commander: captain Nikolai Alexeevich Melnikov) and Czechoslovak Legionnaires (commander: sub-lieutenant A Gasal). The Reds had forty-five killed, fifty-nine wounded, and eighty-three missing. In the evening the Reds retreated to Kataysk.. The White Movement forces lost 17 men dead.

July 15, 1919 in the RSFSR was formed Ekaterinburg Province.

On July 28, 1919, early in the morning, a Red cavalry reconnaissance unit (commander Grigory Dunayev, a Kaslinsky worker) stormed into Dalmatov. The Latvian soldier Stanislav Rukmanis (born May 7, 1901) died in this battle. The Industrial street was renamed into Stanislav Rukmanis street by the decision of Dalmatovskiy town executive committee on July 5, 1972.

By the end of July 31, 1919 the 15th Kurgan Siberian Rifle Regiment (commander Lieutenant Colonel Boris Grigorievich Verzhbolovich) of the 4th Siberian Rifle Division (commander, Major-General Innokenty Semenovich Smolin) took Dalmatov, but August 1, 1919 under pressure from the superior forces 267-th and 268-th regiments of the 30th Infantry Division of the Red Army was forced to retreat.

In 1919 formed Dalmatovsky village council (abolished January 10, 1945).

Since November 3, 1923 the center of Dalmatovsky district of Shadrinsk district of the Ural region.

September 15, 1924 the town of Dalmatov converted to a rural area (village Dalmatovo).

Industrial development of the village began in the 1940s.

January 17, 1934 formed the Chelyabinsk region.

February 6, 1943 Kurgan region was formed.

January 10, 1945 the village was given the status of a working village.

On June 7, 1947, the working village of Dalmatovo became a city of district subordination.

On February 1, 1963 it became a city of regional subordination.

On January 12, 1965, it became a city of district subordination.

The Government of the Russian Federation Order No. 1398-r of July 29, 2014 "On Approval of the List of Monocities" included the town of Dalmatovo in the category "Mono-profile Municipal Entities of the Russian Federation (Monocities) with Risks of Worsening Social and Economic Situation".
